Betty Blue Eyes

Betty Blue Eyes is set in post-WWII England, at a time when the country is gripped by austerity and rationing.

Synopsis

The story revolves around Gilbert Chilvers, a mild-mannered chiropodist, and his socially ambitious wife, Joyce.

When they are not invited to the local dignitaries’ Gala Dinner, Joyce decides they must have the best possible meal to upstage the event—a secretly raised illegal pig named Betty.

The musical is a humorous and touching exploration of the British class system, love, and resilience in the face of adversity.

Based on the 1984 film A Private Function, the story captures the spirit and determination of a community struggling to celebrate the royal wedding of Princess Elizabeth amidst local corruption and intrigue.
